Capacity and FoodBridge Launch AI-Driven Hunger Relief Initiative

The Hunger Relief & Social Equity Initiative aims to replace fragmented manual intake systems with automated, AI-powered navigation for benefits and distribution.

Capacity and FoodBridge Launch AI-Driven Hunger Relief Initiative

Hunger relief organizations currently face a volatile landscape defined by shifting federal policies and declining philanthropic funding. As demand for services rises, local food banks struggle to manage eligibility verification and distribution across disconnected platforms. The new partnership integrates Capacity's conversational AI—which automates intake and benefits navigation—with FoodBridge’s transaction systems for SNAP and food distribution.

David Karandish, CEO of Capacity, noted that the project is designed to reduce administrative burdens, allowing staff to focus on service delivery rather than navigating complex logistics. The initiative leverages a track record that includes over 38 million social service interactions and 4 million facilitated food deliveries. By creating a unified, interoperable system, the partners intend to enable organizations to scale operations while providing recipients a streamlined path to nutrition and community support. Supported by advisor Kathy Ireland, the organizations plan to roll out this model to community networks nationwide to bridge the gap between food access, healthcare, and social services.
