Jones Ready-Mix supplied the concrete, incorporating PENETRON ADMIX SB into the precast manholes, wet wells, and cast-in-place structures essential to the site’s daily operations.

Tylertown Water Plant Upgrades Infrastructure with Waterproofing Tech
Rising groundwater and constant hydrostatic pressure threatened the integrity of the new $2.2 million Lexie Water Association treatment plant in Tylertown, Mississippi. To safeguard the facility’s concrete infrastructure, engineers integrated a crystalline admixture designed to seal the matrix against moisture and chemical penetration for the long term.
Richard Farmer, Eastern Region Sales Manager for Penetron USA, noted that the product is non-toxic and NSF/ANSI 61-certified, making it suitable for potable water systems. The admixture works by forming a crystalline network within the concrete that self-heals microcracks, preventing the degradation typically caused by the constant pressure of treated water. This chemical barrier ensures the plant remains durable despite the high water tables common in southern Mississippi.
