Police identified the suspect as Brandon Booth, who was apprehended by officers during a traffic stop near the facility shortly after the shooting. Authorities recovered a firearm from his vehicle and charged him with multiple felonies, including attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and unlawful carrying of a concealed weapon. The injured woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
Investigators state that the altercation began when the two women engaged in a verbal confrontation with employees and photographed vehicles parked at the site. As the women walked away, Booth reportedly retrieved his personal weapon and fired a single shot in their direction. The GEO Group confirmed in a statement that Booth has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
