Ericsson spends nearly 1 billion SEK on share buybacks

Between July 13 and July 17, 2026, Ericsson repurchased 9,595,000 of its own Class B shares, committing a total of 944.88 million SEK to the effort. The acquisitions, executed on Nasdaq Stockholm by Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, mark a significant acceleration in the company’s ongoing capital allocation strategy.

The daily purchase volume peaked on July 17, with the company acquiring over 2.6 million shares at a weighted average price of 95.62 SEK. This activity is part of a broader 15 billion SEK buyback program initiated on April 16, 2026, which is scheduled to run through March 31, 2027. The company’s board intends to propose the cancellation of these repurchased shares at the 2027 Annual General Meeting, excluding those reserved for existing employee incentive programs.

Following these transactions, Ericsson now holds 79,198,312 Class B shares in treasury. The total share capital of the company currently stands at 3,371,351,735 shares, comprised of 261,755,983 Class A and 3,109,595,752 Class B shares. All operations were conducted in compliance with the European Union’s Market Abuse Regulation and the associated Safe Harbour provisions.
