Samyang Roundsquare enters longevity market with gut-muscle supplement

Muscle strength decline often begins in the mid-30s, yet most interventions remain limited to protein intake and exercise. Samyang Roundsquare is challenging this status quo with Spindle, a new brand utilizing the gut-muscle connection to address the biological drivers of aging through a novel postbiotic supplement.

Samyang Roundsquare enters longevity market with gut-muscle supplement

The brand’s debut product, Spindle Muscle+, features Akkermansia MYO™, a pasteurized postbiotic derived from the microbe Akkermansia muciniphila. Unlike traditional live probiotics, this heat-stabilized ingredient targets gut barrier integrity to influence systemic protein synthesis and muscle maintenance. The development follows a 12-week, randomized, double-blind clinical trial in adults aged 60 to 80, which demonstrated a 10.4% increase in hamstring strength and a 14.1% rise in muscle power compared to a control group.

Samyang is positioning the product for adults in their 40s and 50s who are prioritizing proactive longevity, including those using GLP-1 medications who face a higher risk of lean muscle loss. Developed by Samyang Healthcare, the supplement adheres to strict GMP-certified production standards and contains no artificial sweeteners or common allergens. According to Faissal Tahiri, Head of Healthcare at Samyang America, the focus is on addressing the biological systems that dictate muscle function rather than relying solely on conventional fitness protocols.
