DICK’S Sporting Goods Debuts WNBA Documentary Series Life In the W

As the WNBA marks its 30th season, DICK’S Sporting Goods is shifting its marketing focus toward long-form storytelling. The retailer’s in-house production arm, Cookie Jar & A Dream Studios, will premiere the six-part documentary series Life In the W on ESPN2 this Friday, July 24.

The series tracks the professional and personal lives of three high-profile league stars: A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx, and DeWanna Bonner of the Phoenix Mercury. Filmed throughout the latter half of the 2025 season and the subsequent offseason, the project aims to highlight the resilience and leadership required to compete at the professional level. The production was developed in collaboration with UNINTERRUPTED, the athlete-led media brand co-founded by LeBron James.

This release coincides with the one-year anniversary of an expanded multiyear partnership between DICK’S and the WNBA, which designates the retailer as an official marketing partner through 2028. Beyond the screen, the collaboration reinforces the brand's retail strategy, particularly regarding signature footwear like the Nike A’One and A’Two lines. The first two episodes are scheduled for a July 24 broadcast at 10 P.M. EST, with the remaining chapters rolling out over the following two days on the ESPN app.
