Medline Expands California Logistics After Tracy Facility Fire

Less than a month after a massive fire crippled its Tracy, California distribution hub, medical-surgical giant Medline is aggressively scaling its West Coast footprint. The company announced plans to open a new one-million-square-foot facility in Perris, marking a major strategic pivot to stabilize its disrupted supply chain.

The addition in Perris is designed to bolster operational capacity and provide the flexibility needed to manage ongoing recovery efforts. This expansion follows the company’s recent move to secure 1.6 million square feet of temporary distribution space in northern California to mitigate the fallout from the June 11 blaze.

Medline is accelerating its infrastructure growth to meet regional demand, with projections indicating its total California distribution footprint will reach nearly 5 million square feet by mid-2027. By diversifying its logistics network across the state, the firm aims to insulate its medical-surgical supply chain from further localized disruptions.
