Gulf Air Secures Early Delivery Slots for JetZero Z4 Fleet

The Z4, a blended-wing body aircraft, is designed to serve the middle market with a 250-passenger capacity and a 5,000-nautical-mile range. By integrating a design that deviates from traditional tube-and-wing structures, JetZero claims the aircraft can reduce fuel burn by 50% compared to current long-haul airliners. For passengers, the cabin layout aims to improve comfort through wider boarding doors, six direct-access cabin configurations, and dedicated overhead storage for every seat.

Martin Gauss, CEO of Gulf Air, identified the acquisition as a pivotal moment for the airline's modernization strategy, emphasizing the balance between sustainability goals and network expansion across Europe and Asia. JetZero CEO Tom O'Leary noted that the aircraft’s lower cost per seat mile will provide the airline with greater flexibility as it maintains its role as a premium connector. While production remains in its early stages—with a new 8-million-square-foot facility recently established in Greensboro, North Carolina—the initial units are slated for rigorous testing and certification ahead of the planned service entry.
