Rolls-Royce Secures Engine Deal for Somon Air Dreamliners
Tajikistan’s Somon Air has signed a memorandum of understanding to equip two new Boeing 787 Dreamliners with four Trent 1000 XE engines from Rolls-Royce. The agreement marks a strategic expansion for the British manufacturer as it continues to roll out performance upgrades across its flagship engine family.

Chief Customer Officer Ewen McDonald noted that the deal reflects market confidence in the engine's reliability. To support this growth, Rolls-Royce has invested heavily in its global maintenance, repair, and overhaul infrastructure, establishing dedicated facilities across the U.K., Singapore, and Germany. The company has allocated approximately 1 billion British pounds to refine the Trent engine lineup, a move that prompted a 1.1% lift in shares to 13.73 GBP on the London market.
