Vision Marine Technologies has filed a U.S. patent application for a system designed to regulate auxiliary power on electric vessels. The technology aims to prevent battery depletion during storage or service by intelligently prioritizing essential onboard functions over non-critical electronic loads in the company’s E-Motion 180E powertrain.

Daniel Rathe, Chief Technology Officer at Vision Marine, noted that the development targets the practical challenges of vessel ownership. By integrating this power management directly into the E-Motion 180E platform, the company intends to standardize how supporting systems behave across various operating states, from active charging to long-term storage. This move expands an intellectual property portfolio that already covers propulsion controls, cooling systems, and secure vessel communications. Vision Marine has previously demonstrated its high-voltage capabilities with a 116 mph speed record and integration across 25 different boat models, signaling a broader push to control every layer of the marine electric ecosystem.
