Surpassing market expectations, Teledyne Technologies boosted its full-year earnings forecast on Wednesday after a second quarter defined by surging demand for digital imaging. Teledyne Raises Profit Outlook Following Strong Second Quarter

The company now projects full-year earnings between $20.73 and $20.99 per share, a clear upgrade from its previous guidance. Adjusted earnings per share are also expected to climb as high as $24.65. This momentum is largely attributed to the company's digital-imaging division, which saw robust growth in infrared detectors and specialized systems for space, airborne, and marine applications.

Quarterly net sales reached $1.66 billion, a 9.8% increase that topped analyst projections of $1.58 billion. Executive Chairman Robert Mehrabian noted that beyond the imaging segment, every product line within the company’s instrumentation business contributed to the positive results. Following the announcement, shares rose 1.2% to $655.30 in premarket trading. Looking ahead to the third quarter, Teledyne anticipates adjusted earnings between $6.05 and $6.15 per share.
