Mark Warner to Lead Webinar on Election Security Amid Midterm Tensions

Senator Mark Warner will headline a national webinar on July 27 to address rising threats to the U.S. election system. The event follows a sharp rebuke of Donald Trump’s recent televised address, where the former president promoted the Save America Act and challenged the integrity of the upcoming midterm cycle.

Mark Warner to Lead Webinar on Election Security Amid Midterm Tensions

Warner, serving as Vice Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, will join former NPR host Robert Siegel to dissect the intersection of foreign interference and domestic political pressure. The senator recently argued in the New York Times that the current erosion of democratic norms—specifically the suggestion that a president could manufacture emergencies to seize control of voting—demands immediate public vigilance.

Following Warner’s keynote, Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar and Campaign Legal Center’s Paul Smith will outline strategies for public engagement. Partners 4 Democracy, the nonprofit hosting the 6:30 p.m. session, framed the event as a response to what it describes as a critical threat to the ballot box. Registration for the virtual forum is open to the public, with organizers aiming to translate concern into concrete action against proposed restrictions on voting rights.
