Cascade secures $3.5M to automate construction bidding

Architecture and engineering firms often struggle to navigate the labyrinth of regional and federal tender portals. Cascade, a new startup founded by Hannia Zia and Joana Ferreira, has raised $3.5 million in seed funding to replace this manual hunt with an AI-driven platform that predicts which developers will win specific contracts.

The founders launched Cascade in 2025 after observing the limitations their own families faced in the construction industry. Zia and Ferreira argue that while many firms possess exceptional technical skill, they lack the tools to identify and secure a consistent pipeline of work. The platform aggregates data across state, district, and federal agencies, using historical tender outcomes to guide users toward the most viable project opportunities.

By analyzing signals from public grants and private contracts, the platform identifies potential winners of upcoming bids. If a state announces a major housing grant, Cascade alerts its customers to the developers most likely to secure the work, effectively facilitating strategic partnerships. This approach has already garnered traction with firms involved in high-profile projects, including the construction of the JFK and La Guardia airports.

Supported by investors Andreessen Horowitz Speedrun, Ada Ventures, and Snowball VC, the startup intends to use the capital to scale its go-to-market efforts and expand its engineering team. While established competitors like ConstructConnect and GovWin IQ operate in the same space, the founders believe their AI-native model provides a distinct advantage. As customers provide feedback on successful bids, the system refines its predictive capabilities, creating a dynamic map of the industry designed to optimize lead generation.
