First Community Bank Reorganizes Leadership as CEO Nissen Retires

After four decades in banking and 31 years at the helm of First Community Bank, CEO and president J. Ted Nissen will retire on December 31. The holding company confirmed the departure this week, signaling a significant shift in corporate structure that will split his current responsibilities into two distinct executive roles.

First Community Bank Reorganizes Leadership as CEO Nissen Retires

The bank is moving away from a unified leadership model to a bifurcated structure. Vaughan Dozier is set to step into the CEO position, focusing on bank operations and the management of the executive team. Simultaneously, Joseph "Drew" Painter will assume the role of president, overseeing commercial and retail banking, financial planning, investment advisory services, and government-guaranteed lending.

This transition extends beyond the C-suite. Michael Cromer and Trey Werner have been appointed as regional executives, each tasked with managing a specific geographic footprint within the bank’s network. This move aims to decentralize oversight following Nissen's long tenure, which spanned over three decades of the institution's growth.
