Entrepreneur Names Ace Hardware and Handyman Services Top Franchises
Ace Hardware and its subsidiary Ace Handyman Services have secured the top spots in their respective sectors on Entrepreneur magazine’s 2026 'Best of the Best' list. The rankings, featured in the publication’s July/August issue, highlight the cooperative’s dominance in miscellaneous retail and the subsidiary's lead in home repair services.
Andy Schmitt, Vice President of Retail Operations and New Business at Ace Hardware, attributed the achievement to the individual entrepreneurs who operate stores nationwide. Similarly, Andy Bell, Founder and CEO of Ace Handyman Services, noted that the ranking reflects the quality of service provided by local craftspeople. Acquired by Ace in 2019, the handyman division now spans nearly 400 territories across 47 states, signaling a shift in consumer preference toward professional 'do it for me' services over traditional DIY projects.
