The treatment targets severe hypertriglyceridemia, a condition that poses a heightened risk of acute pancreatitis for patients struggling with high triglyceride levels.

The clinical studies demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in triglyceride levels compared to a placebo. Beyond the primary success, the drug also showed a notable decrease in the rate of acute pancreatitis. Arrowhead reported that plozasiran maintained a favorable safety profile, with no new safety signals or meaningful laboratory discrepancies observed during the trial period.

This latest data arrives as the company expands the reach of its therapeutic platform. Plozasiran is already authorized under the brand name Redemplo in the United States, the European Union, China, Australia, and Canada, where it serves as a dietary adjunct for adults diagnosed with familial chylomicronemia syndrome. The stock reached a 52-week high of $95.49 during the session, reflecting investor confidence in the trial outcomes.
