Monday.com cuts 630 jobs to pivot toward AI

A 20% reduction in staff is hitting the Israeli software firm Monday.com, as the company sheds 630 roles to reallocate capital toward its AI Work Platform. This restructuring marks a sharp strategic turn, stripping back legacy operations to prioritize a suite of automated agents and no-code tools for enterprise clients.

Monday.com cuts 630 jobs to pivot toward AI

The company’s redesign centers on the belief that corporate customers now demand AI agents capable of autonomous collaboration alongside human teams. Current offerings include a no-code app builder, workflow automation tools, and chatbots designed to generate complex reports and manage dashboard updates. To facilitate this transition, Monday.com expects to absorb between $45 million and $55 million in restructuring charges.

This shift aligns with a broader industry trend where tech firms consolidate resources to chase artificial intelligence dominance. Data from Layoffs.fyi confirms that more than 122,000 tech roles have been eliminated in 2026 alone. With 78% of companies citing AI pivots as the primary driver for workforce reductions this year, Monday.com is following a path increasingly common among software giants seeking to optimize their balance sheets for a new technological era.
