Vita Coco has finalized the acquisition of Copra, a specialized producer of Thai Nam Hom coconut water, in a deal valued at $175 million up front. The move marks a strategic pivot for the beverage company, providing an immediate foothold in the high-end, fast-growing segment of the coconut water category.

The transaction includes a performance-based earnout scheduled for 2029, tied to 2028 financial results. This secondary payment structure carries a floor of $45 million and a maximum cap of $100 million. By integrating Copra, Vita Coco gains access to specialized sourcing expertise and a super-premium product line that complements its existing portfolio.

Michael Kirban, co-founder of Vita Coco, noted that the acquisition allows the firm to reach new consumer demographics and bolster its overall market share. Copra Chief Executive Ben Minges highlighted that the strong momentum behind the Thai Nam Hom variety positions the brand for accelerated growth under Vita Coco’s broader distribution infrastructure.
