Efekta Education Taps AI Veteran Matt Fisher as CTO

Fisher arrives at Efekta with nearly two decades of experience in product development and technical leadership. During his tenure at Microsoft, he co-created Codie, a multilingual AI assistant designed to bridge coding knowledge gaps. His career has consistently focused on translating complex emerging technologies into accessible tools for millions of users, a mission he intends to apply to Efekta’s personalized learning infrastructure.

At Efekta, Fisher will oversee the evolution of the company's agentic teaching platform, focusing on adaptive AI that supports both students and educators. Beyond his commercial work, Fisher serves as an adjunct faculty member at Brown University, bringing a pedagogical perspective to his technical strategy. CEO Stephen Hodges noted that Fisher’s background in scaling engineering teams will be critical as the company expands its reach to institutions and governments.

This leadership shift follows a broader recruitment drive at Efekta. Earlier this year, the firm appointed former Italian Minister of Education Stefania Giannini to head government relations, bolstering an advisory board chaired by José Manuel Barroso. With over 4.5 million active students currently using its software, the company is positioning its technology as a core utility for global education systems.
