Fresenius Launches €200 Million Venture Fund for Health Tech
German healthcare giant Fresenius is launching a dedicated corporate venture capital unit with an investment pool exceeding €200 million. By targeting startups from early-stage to growth, the company aims to secure early access to breakthrough technologies and entrepreneurial talent to bolster its existing pharma and medical platforms.

To lead this expansion, Fresenius has appointed Dr. Thomas Michael Thestrup as Managing Director. Thestrup, who joins from Angelini Ventures, brings 15 years of experience in health tech and research, including previous roles at Lundbeck and UCB. CEO Michael Sen described the initiative as a core component of the company's #FutureFresenius strategy, emphasizing that the fund will serve as a mechanism to integrate external innovations into the existing corporate ecosystem.
