Rayzon Solar and Caelux Bet on Perovskite to Transform Indian Energy
A new five-year, 5 GW partnership between India’s Rayzon Solar and California-based Caelux aims to integrate perovskite-based solar glass into high-efficiency TOPCon modules. By replacing standard glass with a power-generating layer, the companies plan to reach 28% module efficiency, aligning with India's aggressive clean energy manufacturing goals.

For Rayzon Solar, the deal strengthens its domestic manufacturing footprint under the 'Make in India' initiative. The company is currently commissioning a 5.1 GW TOPCon cell plant to support the project. Rayzon CEO Amit Barve noted that the partnership provides the necessary scale to reach India’s goal of 500 GW of clean energy capacity by 2030. By combining Caelux’s proprietary glass with established TOPCon production lines, the firms intend to improve the levelized cost of electricity, positioning their modules as a high-performance alternative to conventional silicon-only panels.
