Seven & i Holdings has appointed industry veteran Mauricio Leyva as the new Chief Executive Officer of 7-Eleven, Inc., effective August 1, 2026. The move signals a strategic shift for the convenience giant as it prepares to accelerate its North Star transformation program ahead of the brand's centennial anniversary next year.

Leyva arrives with over 25 years of experience in the consumer goods sector, most recently serving as Group President at Keurig Dr Pepper. During his four-year tenure there, he was instrumental in post-merger integration and helped elevate Dr Pepper to the position of the second-largest carbonated soft drink brand in the United States. His background also includes leadership roles at Grupo LALA, AB InBev, and SABMiller, where he previously managed the Modelorama convenience store chain in Mexico.

Steve Dacus, President and CEO of Seven & i Holdings, highlighted Leyva’s track record in business transformation as a critical asset for the company’s future. As he steps into the role, Leyva will focus on refining the customer experience, strengthening the store network, and driving profitability across North America. He expressed an intent to collaborate closely with franchise owners and associates to modernize the brand's retail footprint as it nears its 100th year of operations.
