Epcoritamab Trial Misses Primary Survival Goal

The experimental lymphoma treatment epcoritamab failed to meet its primary endpoint of overall survival in a late-stage clinical trial. Genmab and AbbVie confirmed the disappointing results on Thursday, following their initial disclosure of topline data from the Phase 3 study on January 16.

Epcoritamab Trial Misses Primary Survival Goal

The trial compared monotherapy epcoritamab against standard chemoimmunotherapy regimens—specifically rituximab combined with gemcitabine and oxaliplatin, or bendamustine plus rituximab. Researchers focused on adult patients suffering from relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma who were deemed ineligible for autologous stem cell transplantation. Despite the objective to demonstrate superiority in overall survival, the data failed to reach the necessary threshold for success in this specific patient population.
