Laminar Pharma Completes Clinical Monitoring for Glioblastoma Drug Trial

Laminar Pharma has reached the final patient visit in its Phase 2b/3 trial of LAM561, a novel therapy for newly diagnosed glioblastoma. This milestone concludes active clinical monitoring for the 144-patient study, with researchers now shifting focus toward the final overall survival analysis expected in mid-2027.

The trial, which combined LAM561 with standard radiotherapy and temozolomide, aims to address the poor prognosis associated with glioblastoma. Interim data from March 2025 previously suggested potential improvements in progression-free survival, particularly for patients with MGMT-methylated tumors. According to the company, the safety profile of the drug remained consistent throughout the study.

To ensure continuity of care, Laminar Pharma has established a compassionate use program. This allows participants who demonstrated clinical benefit to continue receiving the treatment after the trial's conclusion, pending formal marketing authorization. CEO Dr. Pablo Escribà noted that reaching this stage is a critical step in providing a viable alternative for patients facing one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer. The company is now preparing for the data lock process, which was triggered after reaching 90 survival events.
