The dividend will be paid on September 25, 2026, to shareholders of record as of September 4. Chair and CEO Brian Moynihan stated that the hike reflects the strength of the company’s franchise and its ability to maintain stability across the economic cycle while continuing to invest in clients and communities.

Alongside the dividend increase, the bank maintains its aggressive capital return strategy, including an active $40 billion share repurchase program authorized in August 2025. During the first half of 2026, the corporation repurchased $13.2 billion in stock and distributed $4 billion in dividends. As of June 30, approximately $17 billion remained available under the current buyback authorization. Additionally, the board declared a $1.75 per share dividend on its 7% Cumulative Redeemable Preferred Stock, Series B, payable on October 23.
