The new application, titled Seller, provides power users with centralized tools to manage product inventories, communicate with prospective buyers, and monitor item performance. Meta plans to integrate AI features into this interface, allowing users to automate listing descriptions and navigate group discussions more efficiently. This release follows a broader strategy of diversifying Meta’s ecosystem, which recently saw the launch of the community-focused Forum app and the experimental tool Pocket.

Meta expands Facebook Marketplace with dedicated seller tools
With over 430 million monthly listings on Facebook Marketplace, Meta is launching a standalone app to streamline operations for frequent sellers. The move coincides with the rollout of a free, selfie-based verification system designed to curb bot activity across Dating, Marketplace, and Groups while boosting platform trust.
Simultaneously, the company is introducing Facebook Verified. Unlike the paid Meta Verified subscription, this free system requires users to submit a selfie to confirm their identity. Profiles successfully verified through this process will display a check mark within a white circle, signaling authenticity to other members. Additionally, Meta is testing a full-screen, immersive video feed for international markets, intending to bring the interface to the United States next year. Users retain the option to revert to the traditional feed-based layout if they prefer the existing structure.
