Thai action star Tony Jaa accepted the keys to a right-hand-drive GAC M8 PHEV in Guangzhou on July 16, serving as the 30-millionth customer for the Chinese automaker. GAC Group Chairman Feng Xingya framed the handover as a testament to the company's rigorous manufacturing standards, which prioritize endurance over industry-standard benchmarks. Beyond the typical testing cycles, the company subjects its models to an 18-month validation process involving 1,500 sub-items, ranging from wind tunnel analysis to extreme climate exposure. These trials adapt vehicle performance for specific environments, such as the intense heat of Middle Eastern deserts or the humidity common across Southeast Asia.

The production backbone relies on the AION Intelligent Eco-Plant, a facility utilizing AI-driven vision systems to ensure precision across global assembly lines. This focus on technical consistency extends to safety infrastructure, where the company’s magazine battery technology has logged 160 billion kilometers of operation across 1.5 million vehicles. With the Starlink Safety Protection System active in nearly 2 million units, the company reports it has mitigated over 6 million potential road incidents. GAC now operates in 110 countries, leveraging this data-driven manufacturing approach to scale its international influence.
