Rock Tech Lithium Secures US$80 Million Facility for Georgia Lake

Rock Tech Lithium has signed a binding offtake agreement with Geneva-based Transamine SA, securing a commercial outlet for its Georgia Lake project in Ontario. The deal includes a prepayment facility of up to US$80 million, providing a significant capital boost to advance the mine toward its 2028 production target.

The seven-year agreement, effective from 2028, covers the sale of spodumene concentrate produced at the Georgia Lake site, with options to extend the term for an additional five years. Initial volumes are set at 50,000 dry metric tonnes in the first year, scaling to 100,000 tonnes annually thereafter. Pricing is tied to the Fastmarkets spodumene concentrate benchmark, featuring a floor price mechanism designed to mitigate market volatility.

A central component of the arrangement is the flexibility to shift from raw concentrate sales to battery-grade lithium hydroxide or carbonate. Should Rock Tech proceed with its planned Red Rock Lithium Converter, Transamine has agreed to transition the offtake terms to accommodate processed chemicals. This structure aligns with the company's broader strategy to establish an integrated mine-to-converter supply chain within Ontario.

The US$80 million development prepayment facility will be documented following the completion of a definitive feasibility study. Access to these funds remains contingent on several milestones, including the acquisition of all environmental permits, successful project financing, and technical due diligence. CEO Mirco Wojnarowicz described the agreement as a vital step in transforming the company's mineral ambitions into an operational, integrated platform for North American battery markets.
