National Health Investors Names Chris Maingot as First COO

National Health Investors has appointed Chris Maingot as its inaugural Chief Operating Officer, effective July 27, 2026. The move signals a shift for the Murfreesboro-based real estate investment trust as it seeks to scale its senior housing portfolio and strengthen ties with operators across its national network.

CEO Eric Mendelsohn stated the appointment is designed to sharpen the firm’s long-term growth strategy. Maingot enters the role with over two decades of industry experience, most recently serving as CEO of Longview Senior Housing, a Blackstone portfolio company. His background includes managing large-scale operations across the United States and Canada, with a focus on asset repositioning and capital deployment.

Before his time at Longview, Maingot spent more than ten years at Brookdale Senior Living, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategic Initiatives. His industry involvement extends to the Executive Board of the American Senior Housing Association and leadership roles within the NIC Future Leaders Council. By bringing Maingot on board, NHI aims to integrate his operational expertise into its Real Estate Investments and SHOP business segments.
