The brand has opened 21 locations since January and expects to reach 56 new centers by year-end. According to Chief Development Officer Josh Patrick, the surge is driven by a strategy of recruiting owners with backgrounds in adult fitness, childcare, or swim schools. These operators typically achieve higher average unit volumes (AUVs) than first-time franchisees, as they are already adept at navigating the operational levers required to scale.
To ensure these new sites hit the ground running, KidStrong overhauled its pre-opening process. Franchisees now execute a four-week brand awareness campaign before traditional pre-sales begin, focusing on grassroots community engagement. This shift has proven particularly successful in the Midwest. By building local relationships early, many centers now open their digital marketing phase with up to 100 members already committed.
