Stoneridge Secures Record $42 Million Bus MirrorEye Contract

The deal signals a significant shift as original equipment manufacturers prioritize digital vision over traditional mirrors to enhance driver visibility and safety. With peak annual revenue estimated at $10.6 million, the program underscores the company’s push into the public transportation sector following the success of its MirrorEye MP II system.

Natalia Noblet, President and CEO of Stoneridge, emphasized that the integration of digital systems reflects a broader industry movement toward vehicle digitalization. The technology addresses modern safety requirements by incorporating Blind Spot Information and Moving Off Information systems, which help operators comply with European Union General Safety Regulation 2019/2144. By replacing conventional hardware with digital output, the system aims to reduce accidents involving vulnerable road users and improve overall fleet efficiency.
