Simpson Manufacturing Co., Inc. reported a 20.6% jump in operating income for the second quarter of 2026, reaching $169.1 million. The Pleasanton-based company, which produces structural connectors for the construction industry, saw its net sales rise 6.3% to $671.1 million, fueled by pricing adjustments in North America and growth across European markets.

The company’s performance benefited from a 100-basis-point expansion in gross margin to 47.4% and an operating margin improvement to 25.2%. CEO Mike Olosky attributed these gains to strategic cost-saving initiatives launched last year and a $5.5 million eminent domain settlement. While North American sales grew 6.0%—largely through price increases implemented in 2025 that offset softer market volumes—the European segment achieved a record operating income margin of 13.7%.

Following these results, the company’s board increased its 2026 share repurchase authorization by $50 million, bringing the total capacity to $200 million. Simpson also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.30 per share. Looking ahead, management expects full-year operating margins to land between 19.7% and 20.5%, a projection that accounts for an anticipated $10 million to $12 million gain from the sale of vacant land.
