The partnership simplifies the technical burden of international expansion by consolidating tax, fraud management, and regulatory compliance under Coda’s Merchant of Record services. By activating the platform through the Unity Dashboard, studios avoid the need for country-by-country payment integrations, allowing them to scale their direct-to-consumer operations immediately upon launch.

Coda Integrates Direct-to-Consumer Payments Into Unity IAP 5.4
Game developers can now bypass traditional app store constraints by launching branded webstores directly through the Unity Dashboard. The integration of Coda into Unity IAP 5.4 provides studios with a streamlined path to global monetization, enabling access to over 400 local payment methods across 80 international markets.

"Game studios should be able to sell to players anywhere in the world," said Shane Happach, CEO of Coda. The integration builds upon an existing collaboration between the two companies, targeting developers who seek to capture revenue from markets where traditional credit card usage remains low. By leveraging Codapay, developers can cater to regional payment preferences, which Coda asserts increases conversion rates by offering players familiar transaction methods.
