S&P Global Acquires Data Intelligence Firm datacenterHawk

S&P Global has reached a definitive agreement to acquire datacenterHawk, a specialized market intelligence platform for global data center infrastructure. The deal, involving a carve-out from the Simplify Compliance portfolio, marks a significant exit for Leeds Equity Partners, which oversaw a sixfold increase in the company's annual recurring revenue since 2022.

S&P Global Acquires Data Intelligence Firm datacenterHawk

Since its founding in 2014, datacenterHawk has become a primary resource for operators and investors seeking real-time data on capacity, pricing, and fiber connectivity assets. The platform provides critical visibility into the physical infrastructure landscape, a sector that has seen heightened demand as digital investment accelerates. Following the acquisition, the business will integrate into S&P Global, aiming to leverage the parent company's resources to scale its intelligence services internationally.

David Liggitt, who founded datacenterHawk and serves as its CEO, credited the partnership with Simplify Compliance and Leeds Equity for the firm's rapid expansion over the last four years. For Leeds Equity, the sale adds to a string of exits in the B2B data space, following previous divestments like TalentNeuron and Fulcrum Financial Data. The transaction is slated to close in the second half of 2026, pending regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. Solomon Partners acted as the financial advisor for the sellers, with Covington & Burling providing legal counsel.
