The new Calls tab on the web platform mirrors the mobile experience, housing call history and favorites. Beyond basic connectivity, Meta is introducing seamless call transfers, allowing users to switch devices mid-conversation without disconnecting. These updates aim to stabilize the platform for professional environments, particularly with the introduction of waiting rooms for group calls. By enabling the 'Require approval to join' setting on call links, hosts can now manage entry permissions directly.

Audio quality also receives a boost through integrated background noise suppression designed to filter out interference in busy settings. Furthermore, video streaming will now initiate in high definition immediately, eliminating the previous lag time during the start of a call. These changes coincide with WhatsApp’s ongoing rollout of username reservations, a feature intended to simplify cross-platform contact searching as the service moves toward a more unified communication infrastructure.
