Lockton Launches Dedicated Digital Infrastructure Risk Practice
As demand for AI and cloud computing accelerates, Lockton has established a global practice focused exclusively on the risks inherent in data centers and digital infrastructure. The unit aims to guide developers and operators through the entire project lifecycle, from initial site selection to long-term operational management.

Leadership for the initiative is split between James Nelson in the United States and Sam Baker in the United Kingdom. Nelson joins the firm following his tenure at Eldin Risk, bringing experience from previous roles at Marsh and Alvarez & Marsal. Baker, a 13-year veteran of Lockton, has spent recent years developing the company’s proprietary insurance products for the data center sector. According to U.S. President Tim Ryan, the goal is to provide a unified advisory model that helps firms manage capital-intensive projects with greater resilience and reduced operational uncertainty.
