BaseClear Joins Forces with Ultima Genomics to Scale European Sequencing
The Netherlands-based genomics provider BaseClear has become the first European certified service partner for Ultima Genomics. By integrating the UG200 platform into its Leiden facility, the company aims to drastically reduce the cost of high-throughput sequencing for researchers tackling data-intensive biological projects across the continent.
Beyond general research support, the adoption of the UG200 platform is central to BaseClear’s role in Basecamp Research’s Trillion-Gene Atlas project. This initiative seeks to model biological data at an unprecedented scale, requiring the high-throughput capabilities that Ultima’s architecture provides. According to BaseClear CEO Roel Sterken, the new platform sets a benchmark for data integrity and economic feasibility, allowing organizations to accelerate decision-making in clinical research and therapeutic development. BaseClear officially opened its Ultima-enabled service offerings to the global market in mid-July 2026.
