Subscribers can access the feature via the Fitness Hub, where 25 distinct presets are available for selection. Beyond choosing the workout type, users can manually adjust the duration and target beats per minute to align with their running style. The integration leverages AI technology previously tested in the company's prompted playlist feature, which Spotify developers noted saw high usage among fitness enthusiasts.

Spotify Launches AI-Driven Running Mode for Premium Users
Spotify is rolling out a dedicated running mode that synchronizes music playback with the physical intensity of a workout. By analyzing tempo and user preferences, the new tool generates automated playlists and audio cues designed to guide runners through specific intervals, steady paces, or pyramid-style training sessions.

Currently, the audio cues are restricted to English, though the core music functionality remains global. This rollout arrives shortly after the fitness tracking app Strava ended its direct Spotify integration. Starting Wednesday, the update is available to Premium users on iOS across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden.
