Core Lab Reports Q2 Revenue Growth Amid Geopolitical Headwinds

Core Laboratories reported a 2% sequential increase in revenue, reaching $124.6 million for the quarter ending June 30, 2026. While the company faced a 4% year-over-year decline, its operating income reached $9.2 million. Adjusted for specific items, operating income climbed to $9.4 million, marking a 42% sequential improvement.

CEO Larry Bruno noted that while international demand for reservoir characterization remains robust, military action has hampered laboratory testing and crude oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz. The Reservoir Description segment, which generates roughly 80% of its revenue outside the U.S., saw income impacted by these regional disruptions. Conversely, the Production Enhancement division experienced a 15% sequential revenue boost, driven by increased completion activity in the U.S. and broader adoption of proprietary diagnostic technologies. The firm remains focused on debt reduction and shareholder returns, recently repurchasing 214,712 shares for $2.7 million.
