The upcoming event, scheduled to take place over two days, is set to become the largest marathon in the world. By joining this massive sporting platform, Team LUNGevity aims to leverage the scale of the race to boost its fundraising efforts for lung cancer research and patient advocacy. Last year, the team raised nearly $750,000, a record-breaking sum that the foundation intends to surpass through this new international partnership.

LUNGevity Foundation Joins 2027 Double TCS London Marathon
With 100,000 runners expected to descend on the UK, the LUNGevity Foundation has secured a charity partner spot for the 2027 Double TCS London Marathon. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the organization, which now holds official status in seven of the eight Abbott World Marathon Majors.

Katie Ginda, Director of Development at LUNGevity, noted that the inclusion of the London race provides a vital stage for survivors, caregivers, and supporters to raise awareness about the disease. The foundation is currently offering guaranteed race entries to participants who commit to their fundraising goals. Interested runners must submit their applications by August 16 to join the effort to improve survival outcomes for the estimated 229,410 Americans diagnosed with lung cancer annually.
