The selection committee, comprised of experts from the Harrington Discovery Institute Scientific Advisory Board and the ASCI Council, evaluates nominations based on innovation, creativity, and the potential for transformative patient impact. While institutional nominations and team submissions are encouraged, each application must designate a primary nominee.

Nominations Open for 2027 Harrington Prize in Medicine
A $20,000 honorarium awaits the next breakthrough physician-scientist as the Harrington Discovery Institute and the American Society for Clinical Investigation open the call for the 2027 Harrington Prize. The award seeks to honor researchers whose creative work has successfully bridged the gap between academic discovery and clinical application.
The chosen recipient will receive the monetary award and a platform to share their findings with the broader medical community. This includes delivering the Harrington Prize Lecture at the 2027 Joint Meeting of the Association of American Physicians, the ASCI, and the American Physician Scientists Association, along with a presentation at the Harrington Discovery Institute Symposium. Furthermore, the winner will contribute a personal essay to the Journal of Clinical Investigation. Submissions remain open until September 14, 2026.
