Balance Point Capital Backs ShipSigma in Recapitalization Deal

Westport-based Balance Point Capital has injected debt and equity capital into ShipSigma, a supply-chain optimization firm, to support a recapitalization effort led by Inverness Graham Investments. This transaction marks the fourth collaboration between the investment firm and Inverness Graham, signaling a deepening strategic alliance within the lower middle market.

Balance Point Capital Backs ShipSigma in Recapitalization Deal

Founded in 2018, ShipSigma specializes in parcel and supply-chain management for small and medium-sized enterprises. The company leverages a database of over 20 billion parcel and less-than-truckload data points to refine shipping profiles, automate invoice audits, and negotiate carrier contracts. By combining proprietary cost modeling with industry expertise, the platform identifies measurable savings for its clients.

Adam Sauerteig, a partner at Balance Point, described the investment as a commitment to a company delivering immediate value within a volatile shipping ecosystem. For Inverness Graham, the deal reinforces a recurring partnership model. Principal Ryan Geary noted that the firms have now completed four joint investments in recent years, underscoring a shared approach to backing high-growth, tech-enabled businesses.
