Springfield’s Iconic 31-Story Former Wyndham Hotel Heads to Auction
The sprawling 31-story former Wyndham City Centre in downtown Springfield is hitting the auction block, with bankruptcy proceedings set to conclude on September 15. The landmark property, which occupies an entire city block at 700 E. Adams Street, is being marketed by Hilco Real Estate as a prime redevelopment opportunity.
Jamie Coté, senior director at Hilco Global, noted that the site’s scale and location near the Illinois State Capitol and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library make it a unique prospect for investors. The bankruptcy sale is being managed under the oversight of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas, Case No. 5:26-bk-50689. Interested parties must submit their bids by 5:00 p.m. CT on September 15 via the Hilco Real Estate sales portal.
