Okta has agreed to acquire identity security startup Permiso Security in a deal valued at approximately $200 million. Founded in 2022 by former FireEye executives Paul Nguyen and Jason Martin, Permiso focuses on detecting malicious activity after initial network access. Their technology, including the recently launched SandyClaw platform, excels at monitoring AI agent behavior and identifying compromised machine identities within cloud infrastructures. By integrating these capabilities, Okta aims to move beyond simple login verification toward continuous, behavior-based threat detection.
