TruHeight Pivots to Functional Foods as Youth Sports Participation Peaks

With youth soccer registration hitting record highs following the FIFA World Cup, nutrition brand TruHeight is moving beyond its traditional supplement roots. The company is launching a new line of Protein Energy Waffles, marking its strategic transition into a broader functional nutrition platform for active families.

TruHeight Pivots to Functional Foods as Youth Sports Participation Peaks

The expansion arrives as the Sports & Fitness Industry Association reports a 16% year-over-year surge in outdoor soccer participation, with U.S. Soccer projecting a total of 29 million players by the end of 2026. This heightened athletic activity coincides with shifting consumer habits, as parents increasingly scrutinize labels and seek products that offer tangible health benefits over basic nutrition. Google Trends data supports this shift, showing a 115% increase in searches for fiber-related nutrition over the past 90 days.

TruHeight’s new Protein Energy Waffles, which pack 7 grams of fiber per serving, serve as the flagship for this category pivot. Co-founders Eden Stelmach and Justin Rapoport emphasize that the shift is driven by a demand for products that integrate into the daily routines of school and athletics. Already established in 5,000 CVS locations and at retailers like Target, the company is building an innovation pipeline that targets recovery, cognitive wellness, and performance. This move signals a long-term goal to transform from a vitamin-focused brand into a comprehensive provider of everyday family health solutions.
