The book features a personal dedication to his wife, Manasha, and chronicles a creative habit that began in earnest during the late 1980s. Ted Harrington, founder of Terrapin Stationers, notes that a simple suggestion from Manasha in 1987—encouraging the musician to sign his drawings—transformed his approach, leading him to carry sketchbooks on every subsequent tour.

For Garcia, the home studio served as a necessary sanctuary after the pressures of touring. His daughter, Keelin Garcia, recalls participating in these daily drawing sessions, describing the family art room as a space of quiet collaboration. This reissue aims to preserve that legacy, making the collection accessible to a new generation of fans and collectors.
