AusperBio Begins Human Trials for HBV Candidate AHB-171
AusperBio Therapeutics has dosed the first patient in a clinical study for AHB-171, an investigational siRNA therapeutic designed to treat chronic hepatitis B. This milestone marks the first clinical application of the company's proprietary Au-HALO liver-targeting platform, expanding its pipeline beyond its existing lead program, AHB-137.
CEO Dr. Guofeng Cheng noted that the trial validates the company’s ability to translate proprietary platform technologies into clinical assets. CSO Dr. Chris Yang added that the candidate is designed to integrate into combination treatment strategies. The company, which operates in the United States and China, plans to use the trial data to assess the clinical profile of the drug while evaluating the broader efficacy of its Au-HALO delivery technology.
