Universal Technical Institute Opens Georgia Campus in Smyrna

The Smyrna location, situated at 7100 Highlands Parkway SE, represents the second new campus launch for the company this year. It serves as a key pillar of the organization’s ongoing North Star strategy, a multi-phase initiative focused on scaling workforce solutions across the United States. The school will house specialized labs dedicated to automotive, diesel, aviation, electrical, HVACR, and welding instruction.

Todd Hitchcock, executive vice president of strategy and operations, emphasized the necessity of bridging the gap between emerging technology and manual labor. He noted that the facility will feed talent into sectors ranging from advanced manufacturing to data center maintenance. Local leadership expects the arrival of the institute to bolster Cobb County’s economic competitiveness by connecting residents directly with regional employers. Industry partners already aligned with the campus include companies such as CarMax, Hendrick Automotive Group, and Lincoln Electric, all of which are looking to the school to help stabilize their respective talent pipelines.
