With 30.66 million metric tons of grain and grain products transported during the 2025-2026 crop year, Canadian Pacific Kansas City has officially eclipsed its previous all-time high. The railroad surpassed the 2020-2021 record by 72,500 tons, fueled by a robust harvest and high-performing terminal operations across the North American network.

CPKC Railroad Shatters Grain Shipment Record

This year's volume represents an 11% increase over the previous crop year and sits 16% above the rolling three-year average. The company maintained consistent growth throughout the cycle, securing new output records during the first and second quarters of 2026. Monthly benchmarks were also reset in January, February, April, May, and June.

Chief Marketing Officer John Brooks attributed the milestone to a combination of service focus and strong coordination with terminal operators and customers. Looking ahead, the railroad anticipates sustained momentum for the current crop year, citing expanded route options and broader market access for Canadian shippers as primary drivers for future performance.
