Sands China Secures First-of-its-Kind Workplace Certification

Ninety-six percent of employees at Sands China describe the operator as a great place to work, marking a milestone for the Macao-based giant. The integrated resort firm has become the first in Greater China to receive the Great Place To Work Certification, validating its internal culture through direct staff feedback.

Sands China Secures First-of-its-Kind Workplace Certification

The certification process relies on the anonymous Trust Index Survey, which evaluates workplace culture across dimensions like credibility, respect, and fairness. Sands China achieved an average score of 92 percent across these categories, signaling high levels of cohesion among its 28,000-strong workforce. For Grant Chum, CEO and executive director, the accolade serves as more than an international badge; it reflects a deep-rooted trust that allows the company to maintain service standards and operational excellence.

This latest recognition bolsters the company’s ongoing HR strategy, which has focused on professional development and employee well-being. By the close of 2025, the Sands China Academy had delivered over 22.6 million hours of training across sectors ranging from resort management to responsible gaming. The firm has also implemented family-centric policies, including paid paternity leave and AI-driven health monitoring, to support its staff. The efficacy of these initiatives is evident in the company’s retention figures: by the end of 2026, nearly 15,000 employees had reached a tenure of at least 10 years, representing more than half of the total staff. This certification, paired with consecutive "Top Employer" awards since 2025, underscores a long-term commitment to aligning corporate growth with Macao’s broader talent development goals.
